Breeding and the day care
Leave two Pokémon at the day care for an egg. Each Pokémon can only breed a few times.
How it works
/daycare takes two of your Pokémon. They stay in your party but are busy until you take the egg. An egg costs $1,000 and is ready 60 minutes later, whether you are online or not.
Who can breed
- Both level 20 or higher.
- A shared egg group, a male and a female, or one Ditto.
- No legendary, mythical, Ultra Beast, Paradox or Radiant parents.
What the baby gets

Fertility
Every Pokémon has a fertility from 0 to 4, shown on its summary page. It is rolled when the Pokémon becomes yours: mostly 2, rarely more. Breeding uses one.
A baby starts with one less than its lower parent, so a bred line runs out and wild Pokémon stay worth catching. A Fertility Charm from Ash Company and the altar gives one back.
